Questions & Answers

The Questions I'm Asked Most

I've collected here the questions most couples raise. If something isn't clear — reach out on WhatsApp or via the contact form.

How much does a designed ketubah cost?
The base price for a designed ketubah on the site is ₪500, which includes digital printing on 300gsm chromo paper, a thick A3 bound cover, and a design from the collection. Adding personal inscriptions or additional details to the ketubah costs an extra ₪50. No hidden fees. Full breakdown of options and prices.
How long does it take to order a ketubah?
The order process takes 5–7 business days from when all ketubah details (names, date, text) are confirmed. After ordering, I contact you via WhatsApp to collect the details, design the ketubah to your choice, and after approval — print and ship. You can choose standard shipping, express, or personal pickup in Jerusalem.
What's the difference between the texts — Traditional, Conservative, Reform, and Interfaith?
The Traditional (Orthodox) text is written in Aramaic and is the most common in Israel. The Conservative text adds clauses protecting the wife in divorce cases. The Reform text is mutual-egalitarian between both partners. The Interfaith text is adapted for couples where one partner is not Jewish. Detailed examples of all texts.
What is the sum written in the traditional ketubah?
The traditional ketubah specifies two sums: two hundred zuz of "essential ketubah" (a fixed amount from the Sages' era) and a personal addition by the groom (usually ₪100,000–200,000, but the amount is at your choice). The sum is not a "bride price" — it is insurance the husband commits to pay in case of divorce or death. Read more about the sum in the ketubah.
Can I add an illustration or personal text to the ketubah?
Yes. You can add a personal inscription at the bottom of the ketubah — extended parents' names, a family blessing, a chosen verse, or a dedication. This addition costs ₪50 and allows personal customization without affecting the ketubah's classical structure. We'll finalize the details with you via WhatsApp after ordering.
What's the difference between a printed ketubah and a handwritten one?
A digitally printed ketubah offers high design quality, rich colors, and an accessible price, and is permitted across all denominations. A handwritten ketubah by a scribe (sofer stam) is written by hand on parchment — significantly more expensive and intended for couples who prefer the traditional aspect of handwriting. Full comparison guide.
I ordered a ketubah years ago — can I get a replacement or repair?
Absolutely. Couples reach out for repair of a ketubah that was lost or damaged, for a replacement with a new design, or to correct mistakes in the existing one. The replacement-ketubah process includes halakhic aspects I go through with you. Details on replacement ketubah.
How will I receive the ketubah — when, and where?
The ketubah is shipped via courier to the address you provide (5–7 business days, ₪40), or by express with hand delivery (1–2 business days, ₪75). Couples in Jerusalem can arrange a personal pickup at the studio — free of charge. We'll coordinate the time and place with you via WhatsApp.
